To the beggars wearing old-rugged clothes, the sight of new things weekly is disgusting.
To the rich businessman, the sight of new things weekly is typical.
To the president, the feeling of getting free things daily is too normal.

Fine, i admit it. I’m getting new things like weekly! And come to think of it, my bank balance hasn’t been fluctuating much. Infact, not much notable differences. For those who wanna know, my total sponsorship amount has skyrocketted past the low-5 digit numerials (ie S$10000).

I’m a rich bastard i know, but heh. behold, the power of sponsorships.

it’s all over! – time to reflect

I just feel oh so crappy now, after finding out when (someone) will be giving birth haha, and i’m sorta linked to it. As i remember the arguments and the negotiations i had to go through, it’s finally over, and i thank God for that.

And for those who don’t know, the Saints Gaming Challenge, head organised by me, ended its run last friday. To be frank, i was very demoralised a couple of hours before day 1 of the tournament. Yes! I had no motivation to run the tournament in tip-top shape.

Still, my admins and staffs never gave up despite the drastic changes in scheduling and unforseen problems we encountered. Hwang was super optimistic though, but that didn’t help me at all. (Lesson Learnt: Never trust Hwang when he’s optimistic, haha. Something may go wrong!!) Yeah and i can’t forget Josh! He was super hardworking and dedicated to the tournament. He was running around the computer lab, forcing people to work, work and work.

Heading away from the tournament, i’m so glad that it’s finally the holidays. It’s time to par-tey with overnight gaming with classmates, playing games like x hero siege, dota and cstrike!

Yeah and remember this saying, “when shaun fails, everyone fails“? Well yeah, it’s pretty much proven with my 72.1% overall! =) At first, i thought i would fail (i sms-ed ada telling her that i would fail fail fail! haha), but instead, i did pretty well. Thank God my AMaths, POA and Combined Science came to my rescue. Thank God for my great subject combination. Please God, help me make Combined Humanities easier.

Well yeah, enough of my general reflection, perhaps i’ll reflect on my personal stuffs, later. chao!

EDIT: Since you buggers were complaing about my previous ‘lousy blog’s theme’, i decided to change it to this super cool template. I also reinstalled the tagboard for you guys to tag, flame and compliment me (i’d appreciate compliments :) ). If you noticed, i was pretty cheapskate when i was installing the tagboard, so yeah, you don’t see any cool window around it, but i’ll work on that, soon.

Matafleur, Head Administrator of GameSync, has done up a writeup for the Saints Gaming Challenge. Prior to this writeup, i was interviewed by him. We were casually chatting away when we finally got into the details of the tournament and all.

Lil’ peeks of the writeup:
The SGC has been described by Shaun Lai, Chairman of the organizing committee, as an “ambitious” undertaking.”

the 4th annual National Accounting Quiz was held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP). i was pretty nervous when we entered the school campus. i had expected our team to not perform well, reason being due to our poor performance for mid-year.

still, that didn’t bring me down for trying. anyway, the nicest building in the whole campus, is the “convention centre”. in our school, the nicest place to be is called the “centre of excellence”.

maybe because there were alot of chio girls inside? to me, the building structure was way nicer as compared to the other buildings. too bad i didn’t take a photo of that, :(

anyway, upon entering the hall, i was pretty amazed at how big the thing was. seriously, IT’s BIG. i think that convention centre building itself, is bigger than the courtyard part of our school campus, up to the 5th floor i think. yeah that big.

anyway, they played some video about the polytechnic and all, and the music that went along with it was pretty catchy. fast forwarding to the setup, it looked very WCG-type. 4 tables, 2 monitors on each table, 2 admin tables on the far left and right of the stage

up up above the stage were 3 projection screens, 1 super big one in the middle, and 2 medium-sized projection screens on the left and on the right of the middle screen. damn it was damn cool haha.

enough about setup, now about the students. there were some chio student helpers that haha, unfortunately, i’m not going to NP. partially because of transport fee (yeah i’m a cheapskate). there were 2 MCs, one guy and a girl. the girl dressed up very much like miss chua in primary sch haha. oh well, and the guy was, um okok. haha

now about the competition. i didn’t do the MCQ part, although if i did the MCQ thing, i’d bet our team would have proceeded to the finals haha. oh well. anyway, i did the computation questions which consisted of 5 questions. i thought i could did it with pei jun in 10minutes, but we took up the whole 25mins. crap. haha. didn’t got the chance to check the MCQ answers haha.

oh and a quick trivia: did you know that the chances of being the finalist is 2.98%? haha.

what really shocked me was that the questions for the finals WAS SO DAMN ******* EASY. so easy that when yu hong ‘tikam-ed’ the answers, HE WAS CORRECT FOR EVERY SINGLE QUESTION HE ‘TIKAM-ED’ LOL.

and because of his good ‘tikam-ness’, our team won a $40 popular voucher. heh, better than nothing HAHA. walao, i’m so disappointed that i didnt make it to the finals. BUT OH WELL, no more next year :( :( haha.

anyway, enough about my day at NP.

ex’s dad getting on my nerves.
