YES! HEAR ME! here are some pictures i took today :D .

i’ll start with some outdated photos that i forgot to upload.

i drew this on benlai’s paper :D (yes, i got bored during english class)

isaac and leontan after tuition, looking at some army advertisement at some bus stop.

benlai acting shy.

i was forced to sit behind

i took this secretly without richmond’s consent during chem class :D

someone actually drew this during chem class!

anyway, today was a really fun day. i mean, despite the fact that i slept really late and all, i still managed to have a fair share of fun. i couldn’t stop laughing non-stop (symptom that i’m tired) during english class. and best of all, there wasn’t any history lesson today!

instead we went to the CPA Lab to be some lame National Education game, and you know what? I WAS SO DAMN INTERESTED IN IT. well, the highest pts i got ever in shaun’s history, was a pathetic 485,000. boo.

i can’t believe it! haha

anyway, after school, went to ang mo kio hub to shop for some teachers’ day gift, but we ended up walking in circles and yeah, we only bought one dri-fit t-shirt for mr alvin how. good enough for us, and richmond bought one diamond necklace and a ring for his supposedly godsistersssssss, which costed 347 bucks. i don’t believe that he’s not giving them to his gf. HAWHAW.

yeah and, richmond treated me lunch. pepper lunch.

my lunch. looks delicious yeah?

richmond’s lunch.

oh yeah at pepper lunch, we sabotaged jonald by filling up the feedback form using his name. shhhhhhh, don’t tell anyone, especially him!!

till next time,

Overview for the ACSL

The Asian Counter-Strike Source League (ACSL) was founded by a group of gamers with the sole purpose in mind to unite all Counter-Strike Source (CSS) in the Asian Region. Up to date, there has been no other attempt to organise such an online tournament at such scale.

For years now, we have heard the uprising of professional teams and tournaments. Most of the best players in the world, probably, comes from the European region. There has been many professional tournaments organised in that area. Namely, the “Championship Gaming Series”, “Cyberathlete Professional League” and many more. Furthermore, it seems like organising a professional tournament over there is much more easier than in the Asian region.

For that, the founders can be applauded for their commitment, dedication and perseverance towards the league they believe in.

In Season 1 of the ACSL, the tournament has fulfilled its purpose by mixing up teams from around the Asian region to play with each other in 3 Divisions, with 10 teams each. Many teams had made new friends from across the region.

In the Gaming World, it’s not about being competitive all the time. It is all about making as many friends as one can during the tournament. Afterall, friendship is one of the most important things when it comes to reality.

However, the purpose of the league has not been 100% fulfilled, with the creation of Division 3 (North), Division 3 (South) and Division 3 (Central).

Let’s take the Division 3 (South) as an example. Teams that make up the division are Singaporeans and Malaysians, still, Singaporeans are the majority in the division.

My question to the current organizers would be: Is the main purpose of the league being fulfilled in such divisions.

Many teams in the division already know each other, so there is no new friends to meet. In the most singlish way i can say, “Like that how?”

Being the Singapore/Malaysia/India representative for the tournament is a huge responsibility because i have to account for all teams within those 3 regions, to avoid any disputes and all between the admin team and the teams themselve. Despite being a full-blooded Singaporean, working with Singapore-based teams is hectic to me. Imagine if some foreigner were to be the representative for Singapore, he comments would be like “What the f**k, Singaporeans are really……” blah blah blah.

There’s even evidence that i can show you: Demos.

Round 1 Demos (Total 5 Demos): http://acsl.shauniee.com/dl/?&&path=ACSLD3S%2Fround%201/
Round 2 Demos (Total 3 Demos): http://acsl.shauniee.com/dl/?&&path=ACSLD3S%2Fround%202/
Round 3 Demos (Total 1 Demos): http://acsl.shauniee.com/dl/?&&path=ACSLD3S%2Fround%203/

Cool huh? Number patterns!

Added to that, the ACSL Founders and Organizers/Admins are completely volunteers.

General Manager of the ACSL, Irish, even published his first ever Rant for the ACSL in the forums! Check this out: http://acsl.jconserv.net/viewtopic.php?t=891

Organising an online tournament is simply hell. That was what i learnt after the Online Series for the VirtuaLeague back in 2005.

It is that stressful for us, especially since the tournament is asia-wide.

Well, now i know why there has been no attempts to organise a similar tournament for gamers in this region.
